FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to machining spur gear teeth. Proposed tool comprises spur gear with circular teeth. Cutting edges of said teeth are formed by intersection of circular teeth lateral surfaces with screw surfaces of trapezoid-section chip flute axially shifted relative to each other. Center of circles defining tool teeth convex and concave sides are located on the line of symmetry at central axial section of billet-wheel and inclined to the line located at tool axial section at β=3-8° to the left in the case of right-hand chit flute or to the right in the case of left-hand chip flute.
EFFECT: higher quality of machining, reduced plastic deformation.
