SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of 1-adamantane carboxylic acid nitrile of the general formula: . Method involves interaction of adamantine with acetonitrile in the presence of CBr4 and using molybdenum-containing catalyst of the formula Mo(CO)6 in the following ratio of reagents: [Mo(CO)6]:[AdH]:[CBr4]:[CH3CN] = (1:50)-(100:50)-(100:2000), respectively, at temperature 140°C for 2-6 h. Method provides preparing the end product with the high yield under optimal conditions.
EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
