FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry, specifically to a novel method for synthesis of N-(1-adamantyl)acetamide, which can be used in synthesis of scarce adamantane derivatives. The method is realised by reacting adamantane with acetonitrile in bromotrichloromethane in the presence of water under the effect of Mo(CO)6 at 130-140°C for 2-3 hours, in molar ratio [adamantane] : [CH3CN] : [CBrCl3] : [Mo(CO)6] : [H2O] = 100 : 100-150 : 100-150 : 1-3 : 1000-2000.
EFFECT: novel N-(1-adamantyl)acetamide synthesis method.
