FIELD: medicine, ophthalmosurgery.
SUBSTANCE: cataract should be extracted due to ultrasound destruction of lens followed by its aspiration. Initially one should fulfill aspiration of nucleus at minimal power of ultrasound being 5-10% in the lower semicircle of capsular sac. The time for applying ultrasound corresponds to about 5-20 sec. Then with the help of a spatula it is necessary to turn the rest upper half of the lens for 180° along sagittal plane downwards to aspirate similarly at the same level of ultrasound. Then, with the help of irrigation-aspiration cannulas one should carry out bimanual aspiration of lenticular masses, then one should start the implantation of intraocular lens. The innovation provides decreased traumatism of ocular tissues and the number of such post-surgical complications as the loss of endothelial cells and corneal edema. The innovation suggested enables to decrease the frequency in the development of endothelial-epithelial corneal dystrophy at simultaneous shortened period of surgical interference.
