SUBSTANCE: invention group relates to a method of forming sheet material coils and to rewinders implementing this method. During forming coils of sheet material wound on cylindrical tubes, adhesive is applied on the latter, required for the attachment of the initial edge of the sheet material and for the beginning of the winding process. Part of the adhesive applied on the cylindrical tube is transferred to the sheet material before it is torn after the coil winding is completed; the adhesive secures the free end edge of the formed coil.
EFFECT: possibility of applying adhesive to free edge of coils without using gluing unit; allows to obtain high accuracy during adhesive application to sheet material in order to secure following one.
