FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of reels from roll material. Claimed rewinder comprises the winding cage. The latter is composed of three rolls and comprises the fourth winding roll. The fourth and first winding rolls make said cage wherein roll material is pushed by winding sleeve for initiation of winding cycle. At winding roll material is separated without adjustment of mechanical parts. To implement the claimed process, rolls are fitted to make with winding clearance. Roll material is wound around the first sleeve. The material is separated. The material is wound around second sleeve. Material separation is performed at increase in the material part length between the first winding roll and the previous roll.
EFFECT: simple efficient and controlled replacement at the end of roll winding and at the start of winding of the next roll.
