FIELD: measuring instruments.
SUBSTANCE: pneumatic contact probe comprises a probe housing having a pilot hole connected via a fitting to a pneumatic gauge, a probe stem mounted inside said pilot hole and provided with a probe tip for contacting with parts to be inspected. The stem is constructed so as to form a working clearance of constant area between the stem and the pilot hole. The working clearance may be formed by one or several longitudinal flats on the stem's surface that are parallel to its centerline or by the difference between diameters of the stem and the pilot hole. The stem is spring loaded with respect to the housing and provided with an end stop. The pneumatic gauge has the form of a pneumatic/electronic gauge with a digital scale.
EFFECT: extending the range and increasing the accuracy of measurement.
