FIELD: medicine; neurology.

SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic dopplerography of extra- and intracranial head arteries is performed, total amount of basins with multiple stenoses in the left and right carotid and verterbrobrasillar systems of brain blood supply is defined. Educational level, age, sex, marital status, cardiac arrhythmia, cervical osteochondrosis, and Ketle index of body weight are ascertained from the past history, their gradation and numeric values determined. Forecast indices F1 and F2 are calculated for men and women separately by the formulae. For men: F1m=-28.23+4.076*a1+2.204*a2+3.536*a3+19.213*a4+10.126*a6+5.492*a7; F2m=-55.60 +12.958*a1-2.276*a2+9.880*a3+29.972*a4+19.742*a6+0.906*a7. For women: F1f=-7.54+13.627*a1-2.710*a2-2.790*a3-1.574*a5-2.535*a6+1.674*a7; F2f=-3.45-9.085*a1+1.807*a2+4.186*a3+1.049*a5+3.803*a6+1.116*a7 respectively, where a1...7 are gradations and numeric values of risk factors; a1 denotes education, so that 1 stands for incomplete secondary education, 2 is for secondary education, 3 is for specialised secondary education, 4 is for incomplete higher education, 5 is for higher education; a2 denotes age: up to 40 years is 1, 40-49 years - 2, 50-59 years - 3, 60-69 years - 4, 70-79 years - 5, over 80 years - 6; a3 denotes civil status: married - 1, single - 2, widow(-er) - 3; a4 denotes cardiac arrhythmia presence: no - 1, yes - 2; a5 denotes cervical osteochondrosis presence: no - 1, yes - 2; a6 denotes a number of basins with multiple stenoses: none - 1, one basin - 2, two basins - 3, three basins - 4; a7 denotes Ketle index of body weight exceeding 29: no - 1, yes - 2. F1m,f > F2m,f gives low risk forecast, while F2m,f > F1m,f forecasts high risk of occasional ischemic stroke development.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of individual forecasting of occasional stroke development.
