FIELD: metrology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to range finding systems exploiting the reflection of search pulses and can be used in the missile range-finders using a semi-active designation. The method consists in pulsed search of a target, reception of search pulses reflected from the target, generation of reference frequency pulses, finding out the distance to the target from the reference frequency pulse number, reception of the target search signal, generation of triggering pulse, reception of the signal reflected from the target, stopping pulse shaping, finding out the distance to the target from the reference frequency pulse number during the interval between the triggering pulse and reception of reflected pulse. The pulsed range-finder incorporates transceiver circuit 1, reference frequency pulse generator 2, key 3, range counter 4 and memory unit with indicator 5, trigger 6, search pulse reception channel 7 and triggering signal shaper 8, reflected signal receiver 9 and stopping pulse shaper 10.
EFFECT: ranging with semi-active target designation.
