FIELD: physics, nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of unblocked starting targets aimed at producing radioactive nuclides with extremely high specific activity at their irradiation in a flux of the neutral or charged particles. Proposed device for producing unblocked starting targets in ionised state contains a laser, optical fiber, focusing optical system and holder. The pulsed-intermittent laser ionises a starting material inside isotope ampoule. Laser power output features output radiation density of at least 108 W/cm2. The optical fiber feeds radiation to aforesaid isotope ampoule being irradiated. Focusing optical system allows sealing the said ampoule. The holder provides for alignment of the laser and said ampoule optical axes and locking the isotope ampoule in required position, the ampoule containing a starting material in a solid aggregate state.
EFFECT: increase in specific activity of radioactive nuclides in unblocked starting targets.
