CORRECTION METHOD FOR STEM DYSFUNCTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH ACUTE CEREBRAL AFFECTION IN NEUROSURGICAL PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61H39/04 A61H1/00

Abstract RU 2348394 C1

FIELD: medicine; neurosurgery.

SUBSTANCE: relaxing stroking of anterior surface of neck in saggital and frontal planes are followed with soft compression of cervical paravertebral muscles and pressor action on acupuncture points of the given localisation by transitive method. Then relaxing stroking of face is combined with massage of forehead, eyebrows, orbits, nose, cheeks, orbicular muscle of mouth and lips and soft pressor action on acupuncture points of face midline and nasolabial triangle by braking and transitive methods. It is followed with massaging on internal surface of lips, hard palate in saggital and frontal planes, internal surface of cheeks. Circus movements are applied to hard palate to invoke involuntary oscitation with the forced expiration, as well as excursive movements and swallow. The actions said above are carried out within 7-10 days, three times a day, with each action carried out 8-10 times. In case of spontaneous adequate respiration and restoration of pharyngeal reflex, these procedures are added with pressor action on acupuncture points of face midline, nasolabial triangle and nose wings by exciting method, followed by bilateral rhythmical tapotement on nose wings thus brief blocking access for air within 1-3 seconds before until involuntary nose breathing. Thereafter nose access for air is blocked by pressing the nose wings therefore the patient automatically exhales through mouth then making a pause. The specified procedures are performed up to 4-10 times. Course of treatment is 14-25 days.

EFFECT: early normalisation of stem functions, prevention of neurodystrophic complications development, improved restoration of neurologic symptomatology.
