FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to prosthetic dentistry, orthodontics and oral surgery, and can be used in tooth replacement in the patients suffering from teeth-maxillary and maxillofacial deformations, particularly with distal (including deep) bite, with mesial bite, with increased dental abrasion, and also in the patients with operated traumas, maxillofacial tumours and deformations. There is estimated nosological shape of teeth-maxillary anomalies and/or maxillofacial deformations. It is combined with estimating the parameters characterising functional state of masticatory apparatus of the patient in occlusal denture position by tomographic examination of temporomandibular joints (TMJ) in central occlusal denture position, while the optimum bite height is evaluated by formula: , where Δh - optimal bite height, mm; K - experimentally found factor characterising dependence of change of mean joint space width on bite height in various nosological teeth-maxillary anomalies and maxillofacial deformations, equal to: K=7.8 in distal, including deep, bite; K=10.4 in mesial bite; K=19.6 in increased dental abrasion; - a mean joint space width, mm, defined as: , where D1R D1L is a joint space width in anterior part of right and left TMJ respectively, mm; D2R, D2L is a joint space width in anterosuperior part of right and left TMJ respectively, mm; D3R, D3L is a joint space width in postsuperior part of right and left TMJ respectively, mm; D4R, D4L is a joint space width in posterior part of right and left TMJ respectively, mm; DK is a conditional norm of mean joint space width in various nosological teeth-maxillary anomalies and maxillofacial deformations, mm: DK=2.7 in distal, including deep, bite; DK=2.3 in mesial bite; DK=2.9 in increased dental abrasion.
EFFECT: method provides possibility to evaluate bite height in the patients with teeth-maxillary anomalies and maxillofacial deformations regardless of nervously-muscular system and parodentium state.
