FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used for diagnosis of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pathologies. Method includes teleroentgenography (TRG) and analysis of teleroentgenogram of head of patient in lateral projection in program Dolphin Imaging, preliminary diagnosing of TMJ pathology. That is followed by sequential cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) of the TMJ and ultrasonography (ultrasound). During TMJ CBCT, an integrity disorder of the cortical plate is detected and osteophytes are present on the anterior pole of the right and left mandible heads, narrowing in the anterior part of the joint space on the right and on the left, relative position at the mouth of articular heads and articular tubercles on both sides. Results of CBCT are used to update the diagnosis. Ultrasound imaging on both sides is used to determine erosion of mandibular contour lines, an unevenness, areas of high and low echogenicity. Final diagnosis is then made and a morphofunctional state of the TMJ is evaluated.
EFFECT: method provides the improved quality of the TMJ pathology diagnostics ensured by successive use of the TRG, CBCT and ultrasonography.
