FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: Ts-99m-Ceretek is injected intravenously. That is followed with single-photon emission computed tomography resulted in diagnosing that involves cortical perfusion in anterior, intermediate and posterior forehead lobes, parietal and temporal lobes of both cerebral hemispheres and in cerebellum. Relative cortical perfusion is calculated in said cerebral regions in relation to cerebellum. Average hemispheric indices are calculated for each region. If combined average hemispheric indices of relative cortical perfusion in frontal, parietal and temporal lobes are 90% or less with reduced relative cortical perfusion observed in mid-frontal, posterior frontal and parietal lobes in relation to the other regions, the neurologic patient is referred to the group suffering from neurodegenerative neuropathy that is Huntington's chorea.
EFFECT: higher diagnostic accuracy of Huntington's chorea.
