FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: device has a frame, an ionising radiation detectors, an information processing and control unit, blocks of antennae of a radar set which uses a georadar technique, a signal switching and accumulation unit for radar antennae operating on a geolocation principle, a sensor for detecting presence (location) of a person in the control zone of the device, a display panel with a sound alarm, two movable scanning platforms on which the ionising radiation detector(s) is mounted together with the radar set antenna units. Platforms are moved relative each other on the height by an electric drive on mechanical guides, always in antiphase. An encoder-sensor and sensors for fixing the first platform in the upper and lower positions determine intermediate and final positions of the platform in space during operation of the device. The frame of the device, the movable scanning platforms, panels with transmitting and receiving radar antennae operating on a geolocation principle, mechanical guides of the movable platforms, supports for holding the platform in the lower position, as well as drivers and overcoating of the device are made from dielectric materials, and the partitions which separate the control zone of the device from the compartment with the rest of the equipment are made from radiotransparent plastic.
EFFECT: security alarm device for detecting acts of illegal transportation of radioactive substances at check points provides high reliability and broader functionalities of devices for detecting illegal transportation of radioactive and other dangerous materials and substances with a movable scanning platform.
