FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and is intended for determining coefficient of cornea elasticity. Mechanical impact directed at pressing-in of central cornea zone with duration from 1×10-2 to 2×10-2 sec is performed, depth of pressing-in constitutes up to 500 mcm. Simultaneously, each 1×10-3 sec depth of pressing-in in central cornea zone is registered and coefficient of cornea elasticity is determined by formula: where k - coefficient of cornea elasticity, kp - scale coefficient for reduction of elasticity coefficient to dimension of Young's module, t - time from beginning of pressing-in, x(t) - depth of pressing-in of central cornea zone. Mechanical impact is realized with air current, with scale coefficient - 0.65 or plunger with scale coefficient - 290.3.
EFFECT: ensuring possibility of predicting complications of keratorefractive operations, keratocone development, as well as interpretation of results of intraocular pressure measurement.
