FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes high-temperature treatment of the intermediate product in the range from 900 to 1300°C. The intermediate product contained of finely dispersed titanium oxide particles covered with potassium titanate with general formula K2O·1.5TiO2 is obtained on the base of raw material mixture containing solid titanium oxide and potassium hydroxide with mass ratio TiO2 : KOH in the range from 2.3:1 to 4.8:1 in conversion to anhydrous KOH. The raw material mixture is heated to temperature 150-405°C.

EFFECT: simplifying of the obtaining of fibrous crystalline potassium titanate; decrease of energy consumption at end-product crystallisation.
