FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to electrolytic-plasma treatment of surfaces and can be implemented for determining moment of completion of plasma-electrolytic oxidising of valve metals, for example aluminium and titanium and alloys on their base. The method consists in measuring variable component of current and in analysing its variations in time and in measuring and analysing variable component of voltage, which is periodically or continuously changed with frequency 200-20000 Hz; also variable components of current and voltage are supplied on band filters with boundary frequencies 200-18000 and 500-20000 Hz; phase shifting is measured between filtered signals of current and voltage. The moment of completion of the process is determined upon reaching value of phase shifting by 20-80 degrees.

EFFECT: upgraded accuracy of determining moment of completion of plasma-electrolytic oxidising process due to extended number of measured parametres, and reduced power consumption of process.
