FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention consists of vacuum cooled melting chamber and electron gun with focusing electrodes. A lower electrode is made in form of a holder corresponding to a disk with a central opening for arranging of treated metal. The electrodes are connected between them with metal poles. An upper electrode is made in form of a ring co-axial to the disk and has a circular "П"-shaped groove facing the lower electrode; the circular groove is cut on face surface of the ring wherein a circular filamentous cathode is installed. Cathode is located in the groove on the straight line connecting an upper edge of the central opening of the disk of the lower focusing electrode and the lower edge of groove surface enveloped with cathode. Side surfaces of the groove from the level of cathode plane into direction of the lower focusing electrode are made in form of diverging cones. Also surface enveloped with cathodes is created with two cones; incline angle to plane of cathode forming surface of the first from cathode cone is 130-140°, of the second cone - 94-97°; and incline angle of groove surface enveloping cathode is 100-110°.
EFFECT: upgraded quality of crystallographic quality and increased yield of mono crystals.
