FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to coding of video data, and more precisely, to editing of video fragments. Device is suggested for editing of multimedia file, which comprises frame analyser to identify whether input vide frames have frame characteristics suitable for editing in compressed area or editing in spatial area. For those frames that are suitable foe editing in compressed area, frame analyser provides data of frames for processing processor in compressed area so that data of video frames could be modified in compressed area. For those frames that are suitable for editing only in spatial area, frame analyser transmits frame data into decoder and then to processing processor in spatial area for modification of these frames. Modified data in various fields are combined and converted into file format by file former of formats. Besides syntactical analyser of file formats is used for separation of audio data from video data so that sound data could also be modified, if required.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of multimedia data editing with reduction of computer resource of mobile device.
