FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: invention introduces method of cell rechoice by mobile station for transition from service cell supported by radio access network GSM/EDGE (GERAN) to cell supported by universal terrain radio access network (UTRAN). In compliance with the first version of invention embodiment intersystem rechoice of cell is achieved without changes of indication. This may be preferable for early implementation of an invention in practice as indication change always requires more time (usually renewal of both mobile and network equipment is required). In compliance with the second version of invention embodiment flexibility provided by indication change is used for achievement of additional advantages.

EFFECT: setting of cells rechoice in such a way that it occurs in point where operation of upstream channel is ensured and at the same time to make mobile station to perform rechoice of cell of UTRAN network when both downstream and upstream channels operate.
