FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to special electrometallurgy field, particularly vacuum arc remelting of high-reaction metals and alloys and can be used at melting of titanium alloys ingots from compressed consumed electrodes. In control method at increasing of threshold valuation of residual pressure in smelting chamber of furnace ionisation is removed by method of influence upon voltaic arc by magnetic field of solenoid of intensity not less than Hmin=0.65(I-I0) kA/m, where I-arc current, kA, I0≈2.0 kA - minimal melting current. Moreover, influence upon voltaic arc is implemented by sign-changing magnetic field of frequency 1-15 Hz of duration 2-10 s. Invention provides stabilisation of melting process of compressed electrodes and manganous titanium alloys, improvement of operation of automatic control system of melting on the basis of proportional-plus-integral action controller (PI action controller), yield increasing ensured by improvement of welding of side surface of ingots of manganous titanium alloys and increasing of inclusion into remelt of titanic sponge of hard kinds with high content of MgCl2.
EFFECT: there is proposed method of control of vacuum arc melting process.
