FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: heating device and control method for the equipment concerned with electroconductive material melting is proposed. Power is selectively distributed between the sections of an induction coil surrounding different material zones by altering the output frequency of a power supply source for the induction coil sections. The induction coil sections comprise at least one active induction coil section connected to the power supply source output and at least one passive induction coil section which is not connected to the power supply source but is connected parallel to the tuning capacitor so that at least one passive coil section works at resonance frequency; the output frequency of the power supply source is altered so that induction power in at least one passive coil section is changed at the frequency alteration.

EFFECT: invention allows for selective heating of the material zones aimed at heating or melting by a number of induction coil sections.
