FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to passive onboard surveying systems for over moving objects on a surface. Said systems receive radiation signals in various frequency ranges: radar (radars - R and thermal radars - TR), infra-red (scanners), optical (matrix videos gauges and video cameras). The declared method involves formation in surveying time sequence of two-dimensional peak surface image matrixes in digitisation elements of the tilt and bearing angles. Herewith in each surveying moment, an object image is separated in the matrix with finding a vector that specifies direction towards the object. It is followed with eye positioning and measuring move by means of a navigation system and ranging to the object, and on the final surveying time moment on the basis of the stored transformations of coordinates, all moving points of the object on the surfaces providing a motion path required for further auto-maintenance.
EFFECT: measurement of spatial object moving on a surface and ranging thereto.
