FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for measurement of melt steel level in crystalliser of continuous steel casting machine, comprises receiver (101), which is mounted in box (102) for assembly of receiver in water chamber (107) of crystalliser; source (103a) of gamma radiation with protective screen in box (104) for assembly of source and processor of signals. Detector (101f) in receiver (101) represents long scintillator with end window or long scintillator with side window. Long scintillator with end window is installed with its longitudinal axis vertically and is equipped with bent light guide (101h, 101l) and reflecting layer of magnesium oxide. Long scintillator with side window is installed with its longitudinal axis vertically, besides reflecting layer is mainly represented by magnesium oxide, and there is a transparent window on one side wall. Long scintillator is also connected to secondary emission photocell (101l), which is arranged horizontally.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurement.
