SELECTIVE OXIDATION OF CARBON OXIDE VERSUS HYDROGEN WITH HELP OF CATALYTICALLY ACTIVE GOLD Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC H01M8/04

Abstract RU 2386194 C1

FIELD: electric engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention may use technology of gold catalytic activity control or adjustment technology, by means of its application onto nanoporous substrates having multidomain surface, in the form of arrays of grouped nanoparticles. Such substrate may be made of, for instance nanoparticles of crystalline titanium dioxide. In some practical approaches surface of nanoparticles substrate included into catalytical system according to the present invention, provides for chemical modifications of surface, which to a significant extent, suppress ability of resulting catalytic system to oxidise oxygen. At the same time the system still easily oxidises CO. Selecting and (or) varying surface of nanoparticles according to principles of the present invention, PROX catalysts are easily made of materials, including catalytically active gold and substrates of nanoparticles. Besides substrate made of nanoparticles may be thermally treated before or after chemical modification, but preferably prior to application of catalytically active gold.

EFFECT: improved activity and selectivity of CO oxidation is a technical result of the invention.
