FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of proppants—proppant granules used in oil and gas production by hydraulic fracturing. Proposed method comprises grinding initial stock, drying, pelletizing, roasting, cooling and grading into fractions. Starting material used is the following combined composition: pre-calcined low-melting clay 60%, thermomechanically activated natural zeolite 10%, ash-slag mixture 30%. This composition is thoroughly crushed, dried at temperature of 200 °C, mixed and granulated to fraction of 2.0 mm. Water is used as binding agent in granulation. Granulated material is fired in a rotary furnace at temperature of 1,100 °C.
EFFECT: obtaining light high-strength ceramic proppants based on low-melting clay material.
