FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: there is offered a method of paranasal sinus investigation to predict in a patient the risk of development of polypous rhinosinusitis. The method involves analysing a biological material received from the nasal cavity, namely the internal lining of ethmoidal air cells for the volume concentration of collagen fibres and vessel count per 1 mm2. If the volume concentration of collagen fibres more than 0.24 and vessel count per 1 mm2 more than 6.9 are observed simultaneously, high probability of development of polypous rhinosinusitis is predicted.
EFFECT: higher prediction accuracy.
