FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: evaluation of bone remodelling activity is ensured by image reading of Masson trichromatic stained aniline blue cross histologic sections of the compact bone. The most representative segment of osteons and intermediate lamella are marked out with eliminating the Haversian canals from the image. The prepared image area is tabulated as an image file with setting the axial coordinates for each pixel and the canal intensities of red, green and blue colours. Pixels of the colour described by the inequality: IB> IR> IG>, where IB is the intensity of blue, IR is the intensity of red, IG is the intensity of green, are specified from the tabulated data array. Specified pixels are counted with calculating their portion in total pixel number of the analysed image. If the pixel portion in total makes less than 10%, bone remodelling activity is considered to be low, 10-50 % - average and higher than 50 % - high.
EFFECT: method provides quantitative evaluation of bone remodelling activity, and optimises the selection of therapeutic techniques.
