FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: there are digitised images of Masson's trichrome stained histologic cross sections of a decalcified compact bone without optical filters in an automatic white balance mode at microscope magnification 200x and more. As representative areas for image analysis, there are separated cross-section base multicellular units at a level of an osteoblastic cone at the various stages of osteogenesis with removing the contents of a resorption cavity and/or a Haversian canal. An analysed image area is saved as a table where each pixel corresponds to one line cells of which contain registered coordinates, and also the intensity values in red (IR), green (IG) and dark blue (lB) channels. A tabular data array is grouped by 13 colour values according to possible combinations of IR, IG and lB relations. A portion of each colour value in a total area of an analysed image area and its segmentation in the specified 13 colour values is calculated. The derived data are used to calculate a primary mineralisation index and a nucleation index.
EFFECT: invention enables to provide higher information value of morphological studies of a mineralisation process at the various stages of osteogenesis.
