FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: to objectify quality of life assessment in the patients underwent sphincter-saving operations, "Rectoplasty-specific Quality of Life Questionnaire" is presented to a patient to be completed. The questionnaire includes the general satisfaction evaluated by a visual analogue scale, 19 statements and presentation of the scales "change of life-style", "social functioning", "change of psychoemotional status" with five optional answers considering the event frequency, and also 14 statements presentation of the scales "pain syndrome", "anal incontinence", "change of stool frequency" and "impaired evacuation of the rectum" with five optional answers considering the degree of discomfort. A corresponding point is assigned to each optional answer. Then by the obtained results, an investigator carries out analysis of a general satisfaction index by the visual analogue scale and calculates the results of each scale of the questionnaire by formula. The scale indices are within the range 0 to 100 with a greater numerical value showing higher quality of life.

EFFECT: method allows improving accuracy of quality of life assessment in the patients underwent sphincter-saving operations.
