FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, particularly to oncology. To prepare alpha-fetoprotein labeled with radionuclides of iodine, a solution of alpha-fetoprotein is obtained placed in a vial. The vial is washed with radioactive iodine-123, iodine-125 (125I-"АФП") or iodine-131 with phosphate buffer solution, which is then inserted into a vial with alpha-fetoprotein. As a result a mixture of iodine and alpha-fetoprotein is obtained. Solution of chloramine-B in phosphate buffer solution is added to the mixture. The mixture is then stirred for 2-5 sec, and sodium sulfite is added into it to stop the reaction with continued stirring for 50-70 sec. After that human serum albumin in phosphate buffer solution is added, and the mixture is coated to a column with Sephadex with subsequent union of fractions containing radioactive protein. For diagnosis of malignant neoplasm labeled with radionuclides of iodine alpha-fetoprotein is injected to a patient, and in a period from 5 to 24 hours after injection scintigraphy is carried out.
EFFECT: method enables to increase sensitivity and rate of diagnosing of malignant tumors due to application of obtained in accordance with the above method iodine labeled with radionuclides of alpha-fetoprotein, which selectively accumulates in tumor tissue.
