SUBSTANCE: invention relates to air cushion for knees protection arranged at the steering column case bottom covering that column and extending from metre panel. Air cushion 47 folded and arranged in case extends and unfolds ahead of driver on being filled by gas forced in from inflating device kept inside the air cushion 47, on the case rear side. Said air cushion is folded before fitting it into the case so that LH and RH sections secured to the case are folded on the side of column sidewall 47 to decrease crosswise width without superimposing LH and RH sections on inflating device, while folded area on front side is arranged parallel about inflating device and ahead of it.
EFFECT: compact design.
