FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instruments to check up state of the main braking system in road conditions. Microprocessor is used to compute the braking system efficiency parametres proceeding from received data: steady-state deceleration Js-s, maximum pedal depressing force Pmax, braking distance St, braking system operation time top, initial speed of braking V0. Signals are measured unless steady-state deceleration is reached and forecast time till state-state deceleration Js-s on the basis of analysis of deceleration dynamics variation relative two preset values. The moment of beginning of steady-state deceleration Js-s is determined by comparing deceleration with the third steady-state magnitude and signal about steady-state deceleration beginning is generated. Braking is terminated and braking distance Sst is calculated proceeding from aforesaid magnitudes Js-s. Proposed device comprises deceleration pickup, force pickup, button to lock the moment of depressing the force pickup, deceleration pickup signal amplifier, force pickup signal amplifier, microprocessor, control keyboard, indicator, first and second brake pedal position pickup, brake pedal travel dynamics analysis unit and braking condition signaling indicator. Brake pedal travel dynamics analysis comprises differentiating circuit, OR element, shift register, pulse generator, AND-NO element, AND element, counter and decoder.
