FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: controlled article is subjected to mechanical action using an impact device having standard impact force. The electromagnetic signal generated by the article is picked up. The amplitude-frequency characteristic of the electromagnetic signal is determined through Fourier transformation, from which the amplitude of the main maximum is determined. The value determined that way is compared with a predetermined calibration curve which links moisture content of the article with the amplitude of the spectral maximum of the electromagnetic signal. Moisture content of the article is determined from the comparison results.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining moisture content of articles made from solid materials.
