FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cutting plate is to be locked in cutting tool disk- or rod-shaped body serves, in particular, for hobbing crankshafts, and features parallelepiped shape with two face surfaces with distance there between defining cutting plate width and two front surfaces with distance there between defining cutting plate thickness. It has also one top and one bottom face surfaces. Convex edge surface is formed between every face surface and top face surface and bottom face surface so that top and bottom face surfaces and every convex edge surface form cutting edge with front surface that terminates sideways of cutting angles. To produce cutting plate with maximum number of cutting edges for machining 90 degree-angles, inclined surface directed inward adjoins each convex edge surface to allow appropriate cutting angle to extend. Note here that chamfers arranged inclined to outer edge are directed inward on face surfaces of the flat bearing surfaces, while width and thickness of cutting plate are either equal or very by no more than 20%.
EFFECT: reliable clamping of cutting plate.
