FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: lay-on flowmetre comprises ultrasound radiating transducer 2, receiving transducers 4 and electronic signal receiving and processing unit. Both transducers are fitted on pipe surface at diametrically opposite points. Radiating transducer comprises radiator 3 of ultrasound body waves made up of flexible rod (or tube filled with fluid) bent in the pipe axial section plane along the arc, the curvature being proportional the flow rate in preset rate range. Ultrasound pulse controlled delay lines are connected to radiating element ends. Said pulses come from ultrasound radiators arranged in electronic unit. Receiving transducer is made up of piezo element that has sound contact with said pipe at ultrasound pulse exit points, said pulses passing though pipe medium and along pipe walls in crosswise direction.
EFFECT: increase in accuracy of flow rate measurements, simplified design.
