FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises feed the specimen into spectrum excitation source, spectrum excitation, and pre-discrimination of initial signal amplitude. Note here that discrimination level is set to exceed background signal amplitude. At the same time, background and pulse component of scintillation signal is registered. Initial signal amplitude is discriminated by superhigh frequency filter to suppress noise component of scintillation signal with discrimination level not fixed relative to current background. Note also that some initial level of discrimination and background signal settling time are set on adjusting discrimination and registration levels so that no noise signal from specimen containing discrete impurity is registered.

EFFECT: efficient isolation and registration of scintillation signal.
