FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises heating reference specimen surface and those of solid bodies arranged nearby by heat source. Said source moves at constant speed relative to reference specimen and solid body specimens under analysis. Excess temperature of aforesaid surfaces is measured at points on heating line to determine thermo physical properties from excess temperatures. Random shape specimens are used in proposed method. Note here that reference specimen represents a homogeneous specimen of fixed dimensions. In solving inverse problem of heat conductivity, law of the source heat power distribution law is deduced. Heat conductivity and heat capacity per unit volume of specimens are determined by solving heat conductivity inverse factor problem.
