FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of magnetically-sensitive materials and may be used in mining and metallurgy, etc. Proposed method comprises feeding pump into top part of vertical helical chute, creating magnetic intensity in separation zone with magnetic forces directed to magnetic products discharge side, allowing pump gravity flow downward in the form of swirled different-depth flow over chute section, concentrating higher-density minerals nearby chute inner side by gravity and lower-density minerals - nearby chute outer wall, and discharge of concentrated products. Flush water is fed over entire perimetre of chute inner wall. Pulp is aerated by air or gas, plus reagents, in zone of pulp feed into chute top section. Magnetic intensity in separation zone is adjusted from 39790 A/m to 1671180 A/m.
EFFECT: higher separation efficiency.
