SUBSTANCE: method of monitoring state of insulation (estimating breakdown voltage) in the presence of metal-containing dust in contaminants consists of operations for collecting dust from objects, preparing comparison samples, measuring intensity of fluorescent lines of metals in the comparison samples and a saturated sample, measuring breakdown voltage of the comparison samples, plotting calibration curves, measuring intensity of fluorescent lines of metals in the investigated objects and making a conclusion on breakdown voltage of the object.
EFFECT: improved method.
