FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method involves installing two pressure sensors one above the other at a fixed distance in a reservoir with the analysed liquid, recording zero offset values of the bottom and top sensors when the liquid level is below the level of the sensors, recording the difference in pressure readings of the bottom and top sensors when the liquid level is a little higher than the level of the top sensor, calculating density and level of the liquid from the obtained pressure difference and zero offset values of the sensors. If the liquid level does not fall below the level of the bottom sensor, a middle pressure sensor is placed in the reservoir between the top and bottom sensors at a fixed distance from the bottom sensor. The zero offset value of the middle sensor is recorded when the liquid level is below its level, the difference in pressure readings of the bottom and middle sensors is recorded when the liquid level is a little higher than the level of the middle sensor, the zero offset value of the bottom sensor is determined from the recorded pressure difference between the bottom and top sensors, the fixed pressure difference between the bottom and middle sensors and the zero offset values of the middle and top sensors.

EFFECT: reduced error of measuring density and level of a liquid.
