FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: in the process of welding-up or subsequent ion plasma treatment conditions are created for generation of a nitrogen-and-carbon-containing atmosphere in the reed relay vessel (99.95% of nitrogen and 1-5% of a carbon-containing gas) with ion plasma treatment performed during 31-3000 s which results in formation of carbonitride, nitride and carbide layers of the reed relay contact pieces material base elements within the contact pieces near-surface areas.
EFFECT: serviceable reed relays quality improvement due to contact surfaces erosion resistance enhancement.
