FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves obtaining a digital image of one perspective and scale using a set of circular marks, having reference circles, with the entire image field being filled by each mark. Exact positions of the centres of the reference circles and the mark in each of the obtained images and the width of the dark ring on the image of the mark dim are determined through the width of the dark ring on the mark and the ratio of distances between centres of reference circles on the image of the mark and on the mark. Resolution of the photographic camera in each point of the image is determined from the resolution of that mark, the minimum width of the dark ring of which is still distinguished in that point of the image using a criterion of discrimination of the ring of the mark in the point of the image. The set of circular marks consists of 30 circular marks, each being a system of concentric dark rings on a light background with an constant width of the dark ring within one mark, but falling from each previous mark, starting from the first to the last on a geometric progression law with a ratio K lying in the range of 0.91-0.95. There are two oppositely lying reference circles in the structure of each mark.
EFFECT: possibility of automated determination of resolution of a photographic camera in each point of the formed image using a set of marks.
