FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: self-controlled heating element with electric resistance (10) comprises a substrate (12), containing an electroconductive coating (12a), being the first electric contact (18), arranged on one of sides of metal oxide layers. On the specified electroconductive layer (12a) there is the first metal oxide (14) with a positive temperature coefficient of resistance. On the layer of the first metal oxide there is a layer applied to form a serial electric connection from the second metal oxide (16) with a negative temperature coefficient of resistance, on top of which there is the second electric contact (20). The second layer of metal oxide (16) with negative temperature coefficient of resistance is applied onto an element by the method, when its resistive characteristics (properties) do not change.

EFFECT: production of elements with specified characteristics, reduced probability of operation failure.
