FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: what is involved is clinical examination of patient's blood. The leukogram is studied in clinical analysis and leukogram indices are counted: metamyelocytes, myelocytes, basophils, stab neutrophils, segmented neutrophils, eosinophilsm lymphocytes, monocytes. The derived leukogram values are compared with the values normal for patient's age and sex; leukogram abnormalities in the patient are stated. The human leukogram entropy is assessed with considering the leukogram abnormalities by relation. If the entropy value H is equal to zero, the leukogram indices are considered to be normal, and the patient status occurs to be satisfactory. If the value H is more than zero, the presence of changes in leukogram homeostasis is stated, and the presence and a degree of severity of an infectious disease is diagnosed. If the entropy value H falls within the range of 0 to 3, subclinical hemogram changes are diagnosed. If the entropy value H is found within the range of 3 to 6, a slight degree of hemogram changes is stated. The value H being within the range of 6 to 10 enabled stating a moderate degree of hemogram changes. The value H exceeding 10 shows a severe degree of hemogram changes.

EFFECT: method enables high quality of assessing the patient's status with the use of direct clinical findings, complex approach to selection of the therapy, optimal monitoring and assessment of the patient's status changes and prediction of the disease.
