FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of calcining starting materials such as a mixture of cement material, limestone or other mineral-containing starting materials, during realisation of which the starting materials and secondary fuel are separately fed into the same rotary kiln, in which starting materials and the secondary fuel are heated by gases formed during combustion of primary fuel in the rotary kiln such that the secondary fuel is converted to gases and solid substance in form of residual combustion products. During conversion to gases and solid substance, the secondary fuel is held separately from the fed starting materials, and the secondary fuel is fed and conversion takes place in the region of the rotary kiln (3) lying in the direction of extension of the kiln to the clinker cooler in front of the point where starting materials are fed into the rotary kiln.
EFFECT: avoiding formation of sulphur lumps in the calcining apparatus, reduced probability of reduction of iron and chromium in the mixture of cement material, high rate of fuel conversion.
