FIELD: packaging industry.

SUBSTANCE: container comprises a base 2 with volumetric cells for laying eggs, which is pivotally connected with one side to the intermediate element 3, which serves as a cover for the lower tier of eggs and the base for the upper one, which is pivotally connected with the opposite side to the volumetric cover 4. Between the lower base 2 and the cover 4 from the side opposite the hinge connection, there are elements of fixing of the closed position of the cover on the base representing the ledge on one element and a corresponding groove on the other. Ventilation holes and surfaces to place the label are provided. The egg is protected from the effects of load by the design of cells which are made in the form of a truncated octagonal pyramid; the egg is contacted with the cell through the side surface. The central part of the upper surface of the cover 4 is made with volumetric ledges of pyramidal shape, which are the reverse sides of the cells that enter the cavities of the base of the overlying container, providing not only compactness due to the partial overlapping on the height of the upper and lower containers of eggs, but also the horizontal fixation of them together.

EFFECT: configuration of the package with two-level placing of eggs enables to accommodate eggs in more compact manner due to the levels overlapping on height.
