FIELD: packages.
SUBSTANCE: proposed egg container is made by vacuum formation from waste stock containing cellulose, mainly, from waste paper. The proposed container comprises the base with egg cells linked up with the cover, base-to-cover couplers and vertical stiffness elements. The base cell shape represents spherical surfaces easing with the preset egg sizes shape. The cover features flat upper surface, its inside surface being furnished with vertical stiffness elements representing ledges arranged in symmetry with those of the lower cells. The height of aforesaid ledges allows their mating with closed cover. Base-to-cover couplers represent locking plate linked up with the base and having locking ledges arranged in symmetry with the holes on the cover side surface. Note here that the length of aforesaid locking plate makes at least the distance between centers of extreme cells, while their width makes at least half the aforesaid height. Coupling crosspieces between the base and cover, as well as between the cover and locking plate, feature lengthwise bends due to reduction in container material thickness. The container base has limiting ledges to hold locking plate vertically to prevent spontaneous cover opening. Egg cell shape is selected so that egg lower part contacts with container only by egg lateral surface.
