FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a gas discharge lamp (1) with a dielectric barrier (DBD-), which comprises a discharge volume (2), limited with the first and second walls (4, 5). To both walls (4, 5) different electric potentials are applied by means of a source (11) of power to excite a gas discharge inside a discharge volume (2). At least one electroconductive device of ignition or an igniter continues inside the discharge volume (2) and electrically connects the first and second walls (4, 5) with each other.
EFFECT: possibility to produce considerable reduction of voltage of initial lamp ignition, especially after long-term breaks in lamp operation.
